Come In and Celebrate Cinco De Mayo With Us!
Last Update: May 2, 2017
Celebrated on May 5th annually, the Cinco de Mayo is a holiday that celebrates Mexican army’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War in 1862. The holiday has evolved in a commemoration of Mexican culture and heritage especially in areas with vast Mexican-American populations. During the 60’s Chicano activists have raised awareness of the holiday seeing they identified with the victory over European invaders during the Battle of Puebla. Today, the holiday is celebrated on a grand scale with parades which sees participation from many people, parties, mariachi music and Mexican folk dancing as well as traditional food such as tacos and margaritas. Many people find this a good time to feast and may go out for cuisine. You have the option of celebrating Cinco de Mayo with us!
